Steady On Your Feet

Bittersweet experience picking B up from daycare yesterday. Apparently, they have started transitioning him from the "Special Deliveries" room to the "Steady on your feet" room. Of course it is bittersweet because well, it means that he is growing up :( but is also means that he is progressing wonderfully and that makes mama proud :)

The transition is gradual, and they start by bringing the child in to spend an hour or two at a time so that they can become familiar with the new faces and surroundings. Apparently he did wonderful and I wouldn't have expected anything less. Ben absolutely LOVES other children. Anytime he spots another kid ANYWHERE, he immediately forgets everything that he was just thinking/doing and stares. His eyes get wide and sparkly and it seems that all he wants to do is be able to run over to them, give them a giant hug (and maybe a sloppy Ben kiss) and play!

Apparently, he was caught more than once trying to pull himself up onto other not so steady on their feet when a 22 lb 10 month old is trying to take them down kids in the play area. This does not surprise me. My child has quite a bit of determination when it comes to standing. Especially if everyone around him is walking.

I imagine it will only be a couple more weeks of us having to hold both of his hands in order for him to build up the courage to take a step. He is pretty fearless, so I am actually a bit surprised that he seems to be so cautious with the walking business thus far.

In other business, Labor Day weekend is upon us. We have plans to attend a 40th birthday party for a friend on Saturday, which should be fun. Ben will be coming along. He can party pretty hard.
Sunday we are hosting some friends at our house. They are our besties and have a 1 1/2 year old. So fun to watch the kids play together.
Monday will be full of sweet nothing.

My silly guy

I hope that you have a wonderful long weekend ahead as well!
